親愛的校長、常識科主任及科學科主任：
配合小學常識科課程的全學年網上學習計劃
由香港教育城（教城）主辦、兒童的科學協辦、世界自然基金會香港分會全力支持的小學生年度常識推廣計劃「十分科學」將於10月開始！「十分科學」（www.smallcampus.net/10sci）集網上自學及寓學習於遊戲於一身，以輕鬆、有趣的互動遊戲及練習，培養小學生對常識及科學的興趣。現誠邀 貴校踴躍參加「十分科學」常識科網上自學計劃，加強學生對常識科及科學科學習內容的認知，掌握自學技巧，全面發展探究思維。
2014-15年度「十分科學」將於2014年10月及2015年2月分兩期推出，內容主要圍繞小學常識科課程的四個學習範疇，包括「健康與生活」、「日常生活中的科學與科技」、「人與環境」及「了解世界與認識資訊年代」，教師可通過網上系統跟進學生的學習進度及個別能力，按學習差異而調適課程，提升學與教效能。為了更靈活配合學校在課程上的安排，加強自學計劃的彈性，本學年「十分科學」的每個新課程將於逢星期一及星期四推出，參加學生可於計劃期內任何時間，以教城學生戶口登入計劃網頁完成或補做練習。
「十分科學」設有學期獎項及全年獎項，學期獎項為每期每組別5名的「優秀學生獎」，而全年獎項包括「十分優異學生獎」（每組別10名）、「積極參與學校獎」（5名）、「積極參與學生」。得獎者將獲書券、證書、《兒童的科學》雜誌贈閱、科學模型、小校園精美禮品包等豐富獎品。計劃歡迎全港小四至小六學生參加，敬請 貴校的負責教師由9月15日（星期一）起以教城教師戶口於網上登記報名，鼓勵學生自主學習。計劃細則請詳見計劃網頁。
為協助學校鞏固全學年常識科及科學科的學習，現參加「十分科學2014-15」的學校，可同時預先報名「暑期數理常識挑戰計劃2015」，藉以鼓勵學校持續加強學生對各科的興趣。第十屆「暑期數理常識挑戰計劃」將於2015年7月舉行，讓小學生在暑假期間，通過完成各項數學科、常識科及科學科的網上挑戰任務，豐富數理知識。而全校總平均分最高的五所學校將獲邀參加「暑期數理常識挑戰計劃」決賽，即場競逐「數理校園」學校大獎。

Dear Principals, Teachers of General Studies and Teachers of Science,
Learn General Studies with Fun – Enroll ‘10-Minute Science’ Now
‘10-Minute Science’ (www.smallcampus.net/10sci) will start this coming October! It is an annual learning programme of general studies and science catering for primary students, organized by Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity), supported by Children Science and WWF-Hong Kong. You are cordially invited to enroll in the Programme in order to motivate your students to explore the world of knowledge in general studies and science through self-directed learning from interactive online games and exercises.
‘10-Minute Science 2014-15’ will be launched in 2 phases, October 2014 and February 2015 respectively, and focus on the four strands of general studies for primary schools curriculum, including ‘Health and Living’, ‘Science and Technology in Everyday Life’, ‘People and Environment’ and ‘Global Understanding and the Information Era’. Teachers, through our online platform, can better understand the learning progress and performance of each student and explore their individual learning potentials, which help them adjust and formulate effective teaching strategies to cater for learning diversity. This year, each new course of the Programme will be introduced every Monday and Thursday to accommodate the schools with higher flexibility on teaching arrangements. Students can log in their HKEdCity’s account and complete the online exercises anytime they prefer during the programme period.
The Programme has several rewards in recognition of the outstanding performance of the participants, including annual awards ‘Excellent Student Award’ (10 students per grade), ‘Active Participation Award for Schools’ (5 schools), ‘Active Participation Award for Students’ and term award ‘Outstanding Student Award’ (5 students per grade in each phase). Winners will be awarded fabulous prizes, certificate and souvenirs. Please click here for more details.
The Programme is open to all students from Primary 4 to 6. Please login with your HKEdCity’s account and complete our online application form starting from 15 September 2014 (Monday). Let’s encourage the primary students to start their self-directed learning from general studies in this academic year!
Apart from the above, registration of ‘Summer Science 2015’ is concurrent with that of ‘10-Minute Science 2014-15’ to facilitate the logistics of enrollment for a better support to schools on promoting learning of general studies and science throughout the year. ‘Summer Science’ in its tenth year will be held in July 2015. Participants are encouraged to engage themselves in various online tasks on mathematics, science and general studies for knowledge enrichment through self-study during the summer vacation. The top five schools with highest overall average score will be invited to compete for ‘The Best School Award in Mathematics and Science’ in our ‘Summer Science’ finals.
