TVNews獎勵計劃2014/15將於10月啟動

香港教育城（教城）多媒體英語學習平台TVNews（http://tvnews.hkedcity.net）一直致力為高小及中學生提供英語新聞短片及網上專題練習，推動學生自學英語，提升聽、說、讀、寫能力，並為教師提供中、英雙語時事教學素材。

今年，為鼓勵學校及學生更投入善用TVNews，教城繼續舉辦「TVNews獎勵計劃2014/15」。計劃分三期進行，分別為上、下學期和暑期計劃，每期首50位成績最優異的學生，將可獲得50元書券及證書嘉許，而總結全年成績，學校更有機會獲得「最踴躍參與學校」及「最傑出表現學校」殊榮。今年教城更新增設年度「最傑出表現學生」獎10名，全年成績優異的同學可獲200元書券及證書，以示表揚。現誠邀　貴校師生積極參加，善用網上英語學習資源，計劃詳情如下：

對象	分為初級及高級兩種程度，學生可以選擇完成其中一個或兩個程度的練習。 初級程度：適合高小至中三學生 高級程度：適合中四至中六學生
計劃日期	於2014-2015學年推行，分為三期： 第一期 - 2014年10月7日至2015年1月31日 第二期 - 2015年2月3日至5月31日 第三期（暑期計劃） - 2015年7月14日至8月31日
計劃內容	TVNews將於指定日子上載練習，學生需以教城帳戶登入，並於計劃期內完成，練習內容包括詞彙解說、問答題、議題討論等。 初級程度：逢星期二上載，第一期設有13個練習 高級程度：逢星期二、四上載，第一期設有26個練習 （各期詳細日程，請參閱計劃網頁公佈。）
獎勵	每期獎項 「傑出表現學生獎」 初級及高級程度名額各50個 獎品：港幣50元書券及證書 全年獎項 「最踴躍參與學校獎」 初級及高級程度名額各10個 獎品：證書 「傑出表現學校獎」 初級及高級程度名額各10個 獎品：證書 「全年傑出學生獎」（新增設） 名額：初級及高級程度名額各10個 獎品：港幣200元書券及證書 平台另設有「踴躍參與獎」和「傑出表現獎」證書供老師下載並自行列印，獎勵校內表現良好的學生。詳情請按此。
結果公佈	每期結果將於該期結束後三至四個星期內於網頁公佈，得獎學生的所屬學校將獲另行通知，安排領獎事宜。老師另可隨時登入平台，查閱學生報告。

TVNews Award Scheme 2014/15 to start in October

TVNews (http://tvnews.hkedcity.net) is an e-Learning platform under Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity) which provides senior primary and secondary students authentic local news clips and online exercises for self-access learning to enhance English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

TVNews Award Scheme 2014/15 will start in October with the aim of encouraging students to learn English through news and current affairs. This year, the scheme is divided into 3 phases. 50 students with the best performance in each phase will be awarded a HK$50 book voucher and certificate, while top 10 students of the year will be awarded a HK$200 book voucher and certificate. Moreover, whole-year awards will be entitled to schools with the highest participation rates and best performances. We cordially invite you and your students to join the scheme and make good use of online English learning resources. The details of the scheme are as below:

Target	There are two levels of exercises and students can take part in either one or both levels. Junior Level: suitable for senior primary and F1-F3 students Senior Level: suitable for F4-F6 students
Schedule	There will be 3 phases in year 2014-2015: Phase 1: 7 October 2014 – 31 January 2015 Phase 2: 3 February 2015 – 31 May 2015 Phase 3 (Summer Scheme): 14 July 2015 – 31 August 2015
Details	TVNews exercises will be uploaded every week, except school holidays. Students need to log in with their HKEdCity account to finish the practice. Junior Level: posted on every Tuesday, 13 practices for Phase 1 Senior Level: posted on every Tuesday and Thursday, 26 practices for Phase 1 Please refer to the scheme website for detailed schedule.
Award	For each phase: ‘Best Performance Awards for Students’ Quota: 50 for each level Award: HK$50 book voucher and certificate For the whole year: ‘Best Performance Awards for Schools’ Quota: 10 for each level Award: Certificate ‘Best Participation Awards for Schools’ Quota: 10 for each level Award: Certificate ‘Top Students of the Year’ (new) Quota: 10 for each level Award: HK$200 book voucher and certificate Certificate templates for ‘Participation Award’ and ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ are available for teachers to download and print out for their students. Result Release	The results of each phase will be available on the scheme website within 3 to 4 weeks after the end of the phase. Schools with prize winning students will receive a separate notification. Teachers may also log in to the platform to view student’s progress at any time.
