科學與你何干？ What does Science Matter?

​​​科學與你何干？

​科學與日常生活息息相關，要培養學生對科學及科技的興趣，大家不妨走出課室，從有趣且生活化的方法開始。由英國文化協會、香港科學館、教育局及香港教育城合辦、裘槎基金會贊助的「活的科學2015」將於3月邀請英國科學界的菁英學者及科普工作者來港，舉辦一系列互動的教育活動，誠邀　閣下及　貴校師生一同參與。

今屆主題為「化學－與我何干」，讓學生從遊戲汲取科學知識，例如在顯微鏡下觀看巧克力及雪糕等美食的晶體結構，從中了解晶體的有趣之處。此外亦有液態氮及乾冰製作示範，以及把多型物料製成不同形態的物件等，讓大家有機會近距離觀看不同物質中的分子結構，感受化學的無處不在。活動詳情如下：

What does Science Matter?

Science is everywhere in our daily life. To cultivate students' interest in science and technology, why not learn outside the classroom with interesting everyday examples? Science Alive 2015, jointly organised by the British Council, the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Education Bureau and Hong Kong Education City and sponsored by the Croucher Foundation, invites leading UK academics and communicators in various fields of science to hold a series of interactive educational activities in coming March. You are cordially invited to join with your fellow students!

This year, the theme is 'Chemistry – why does it matter?' Students can learn Science through various drop-in activities, including looking at the crystalline structure of everyday things such as chocolate and ice cream to understand why crystals are interesting and important, liquid nitrogen and dry demonstrations and polymorph shaping opportunities, etc. Here, you can discover the chemistry all around us and learn more about the molecular structures of different matter.
