28 Feb 1944, Barbara Anslow's diary Posted: 31 Mar 2012 04:22 AM PDT Book / Document: Date(s) of events described: Mon, 28 Feb 1944 I suddenly developed mild dysentery, through fish poisoning, and was taken to hospital by Clifton. I was followed by more hospital staff victims - Dr. Barwell, Dr. Yaroogsky-Erooga, Mr. E. Hopkinson, Bill Ream. ((Bread and meat had stopped during January , but a little loaf (more like a roll) was made and the sick and convalescing had one now and again. I had several of these while getting better. Mabel hobbled down on crutches to visit me. While convalescing, planned idea of putting on 'Peter Pan.')) |

28 Feb 1944, R. E. Jones Wartime diary Posted: 11 Feb 2014 05:31 AM PST Book / Document: Date(s) of events described: Mon, 28 Feb 1944 Fine & warm but clouded over pm. Food carrying, rice grinding, wood chopping & cleaning. Bit of sunbathing aft. Choir practice 6.30pm. Saw Steve after. Except for mythical report of "glorious last stand" of garrisons of the last two Islands lost there is no news of the Southern Regions today. |
