Acupuncture in Chinese Medicine helps prevent and manage cancer pain
Cancer patients are under a lot of pressure when fighting the disease. At the same time, they have to endure the pain and other discomfort which may cause patients to feel depressed. Relieving cancer pain would go a long way to improve the patients' quality of life.
Cancer pain includes primary cancer pain which is directly related to the tumour, metastatic cancer pain and treatment-related cancer pain such as post-operation pain, phantom pain and oral ulcers etc.
Clinical researches show that acupuncture can help relieve cancer pain, other cancer symptoms, and side effects of medications such as insomnia, fatigue, anxiety and nausea caused by chemotherapy. Acupuncture can act as an ancillary treatment to enhance pain relief, as well as preventing and alleviating other symptoms.
