Act now to seek medical advice to avoid worsening conditions
Most pneumonia is caused by infection, and pneumonia could be classified into viral pneumonia and bacterial pneumonia. Most of viral pneumonia could resolve on its own while bacterial pneumonia caused by pneumococcus can worsen rapidly and can be life-threatening. Pneumonia caused by pneumococcus can result in trouble breathing, affect blood pressure, heart rate and kidney function, cause pulmonary edema and lung abscess. Parents should bring their children to seek medical advice for a diagnosis and take antibiotics as soon as possible to reduce the chance of developing the above symptoms, suggested by Dr Sham Chak-on Philip, Specialist in Paediatrics at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong. 肺炎鏈球菌肺炎勿忽視 儘早求醫避免病情惡化
大部分肺炎是由感染引起，而肺炎可分為病毒性肺炎和細菌性肺炎兩種。大部分病毒性肺炎都能夠自行痊癒，然而，由肺炎鏈球菌引起的細菌性肺炎，可令病情急劇惡化，甚至危及生命。

Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 to build a protective barrier
COVID-19 continues to rampage in Hong Kong and the number of COVID-19 cases may peak over the next few months.
