For Good." as we continue to participate in initiatives that promote a caring community.  Over 80 Gleneagles staff and their family members gathered at The Community Chest 55th Anniversary Walk for Millions to support and raise fund for community organisations that serve families and children in the city.   Separately, enthusiastic teams of Gleneagles' doctors and staff competed in the 10-km, 25-km and 50-km race at the 31st Green Power Hike and raised funds for Green Power's work in environmental education. Huge congratulations to our Doctors team on winning the Team Champion in the 50-km race! 港怡醫院致力實踐IHH醫療集團「關懷﹒至善至遠」（Care. Most of the patients are suffering from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), which can affect various parts of the body such as the skin, joints and kidneys, etc. According to the statistics from the United States, there are about 20 to 150 people out of one hundred thousand people suffering from lupus erythematosus, while about 0.1% of the population in Hong Kong are lupus erythematosus patients. Dr Yeung Wan-yin, Consultant in Rheumatology at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, has noticed an increase in the number of patients with lupus erythematosus. Having family history is one of the risk factors of developing lupus erythematosus. If one of the parents is suffering from this disease, about one-third of their child will have a tendency to develop the disease. There is also a risk of developing the disease when being exposed to sunlight or taking medications that stimulate the immune system. Malar rash, joint pain, low-grade fever and proteinuria are common symptoms of lupus erythematosus.
