Heavy thunder squall 7.45pm. 40 days rations issued from go-downs. No news. New Guinea news good. US troops been landing since 22nd Apr. Hollandia & Ritape. [?] With Steve pm. Beach opened this afternoon. Peanut oil seems to be doing me good. |

Omar now working chief watchman at Taikoktsui. Y250 plus 30 catties rice. Pretty good..... More stones in rice. Granite, same colour and weight as rice so can't pick out. Broke my tooth badly. |
